Background remover + Image Recoloring Tool (DEPRECATED)

Deprecated Tool

  • This tool is deprecated. Existing rules will continue to work, but you can no longer create new rules or edit existing ones.
  • The Background Remover & Image Recoloring Tool has been split into two separate functions: Background Remover and a dedicated Color Management function to control the number of colors in a design.
  • Please read the guide below to learn how to use the new tools.

Using the New Tools

With the old tool, you could enable automatic background removal on upload and/or recolor uploaded images. This combined setup was particularly useful for those working with monochrome logos.

We have now developed two separate tools to handle these functions, making them far more flexible and powerful:

Background Remover

This is now managed within the Printing Method section, with its own dedicated settings. For full details, see the Background Remover guide.

  • You can enable automatic removal on upload and/or make it available as an option in the image editing menu after upload.
  • Unlike the old tool, it can now handle complex backgrounds, not just solid colors, thanks to a more powerful AI-based engine.

Dedicated Color Management

This function allows you to manage and limit the number of colors that can be used in a design. For full details, see the Dedicated Color Management guide.

  • You can define rules to control the number of colors allowed in a design.
  • You can also set predefined color palettes that customers can use.

By enabling both tools together in the Printing Method, you can achieve the same result as with the old combined tool, while also gaining additional flexibility and control over background removal and color management.
