How to create a pre-designed template from an order

Zakeke gives you the ability to create a pre-designed template from an order you have received, meaning that the design created by the customer who bought your customized product becomes a template that can be purchased by other customers.

In order to save a purchased design as a new pre-designed template, you need to use the "Save as template" option in the order's details in the Zakeke back-office. See below.

You have two possibilities:

A. Create a template for the same product the design was purchased for

This is the simplest case because the design does not need to be adapted to a different product (print area) size.

IMPORTANT: the new template is created with no restrictions at all. You need to work on settings same as when you create a new template.

B. Create a template for another product

If you create the template for a different product, there are still two cases:

  • Product that is already configured in Zakeke as a customizable product

You'll be redirected to the template's editor and you might need to adjust the design if the two products have different print area sizes and shapes.

IMPORTANT: the new template is created with no restrictions at all. You need to work on settings same as when you create a new template.

  • Product that is not customizable yet within Zakeke

In this case, Zakeke first needs to turn the product into a customizable product. In order to make, Zakeke duplicates on the new product the same configuration of the product for which the order was placed, meaning that the new customizable product will have exactly the same product image, print area, and variations of the originating product. Of course, you can still change those settings by editing the product from customizable products > edit. When you edit the product, it's very important that you DON'T delete the print area to create a new one because that would make the new template not work. Instead, use the ruler to give a new measure to the product and then adjust the exiting print area. Please see the video below.

IMPORTANT: the new template is created with no restrictions at all. You need to work on settings same as when you create a new template.
