AI Vectorizer

Overview

The Vectorizer is an AI-powered feature that automatically converts raster images uploaded by your customers in the customizer into vector files (SVG), all directly within the Zakeke interface.

It works with:

  • Raster images uploaded directly by customers (PNG, JPG, etc.)

  • Files that Zakeke automatically converts into raster for processing, such as PDF, AI, or EPS

This ensures that all designs, even those uploaded in non-raster formats, can be vectorized for high-quality, scalable print-ready results, reducing the need for manual rework.

How to enable it

You can enable the feature from your Printing Method settings by enabling the tool "Enable vectorization of raster files uploaded by customers in the customizer UI"

Once enabled, Zakeke will apply vectorization according to the mode you choose.

Available modes

You can choose from two modes depending on how you want customers to interact with the vectorization:

  1. Automatic mode
The raster file is automatically converted to a vector and added to the design without any prompt or preview.
  2. Modal preview
Displays a popup preview of the vectorized result. This allows customers to review and compare the original uploaded file with the vectorized version before confirming.

There are two sub-options within Modal Preview:

    • With choice – The customer can choose whether to apply vectorization or keep the original raster image.

    • View only – The customer can only view the preview and then either confirm or cancel, uploading a new file if needed.

Preview with watermark

You can enable Preview with watermark to show a protected preview of the vectorized result. The vectorization is completed only after the customer confirms the design.

💡 Note: Using a watermark has a cost advantage, as it allows paying a smaller amount if the customer only previews the design. For details, see the Pricing section below.

Important Caution

  • Vectorization is not always perfect due to the intrinsic process; some details may be lost, especially in logos or images with small text, which can affect readability.
  • For photographic images, some color gradients or subtle shades may be lost.
  • If you want to be completely sure that your customer sees the original raster file before confirming, use the Modal Preview mode. This allows them to compare the original with the vectorized version before finalizing the design.
  • However, remember that the original file is always included in the final order ZIP, so the raster version is never lost.

Tip: You can activate the AI Background Remover, AI Vectorizer, and Color Limitation tools together. They are designed to work in sequence on the same image: background removal first, then vectorization, and finally color adjustment according to your rules.

This combination is especially powerful for companies that want customers to work on clean, vector-based images and use printing methods with limited color options — such as monochrome or screen printing.

For a smoother experience, we recommend setting the Background Remover and Vectorizer tools to Automatic Mode. This way, both actions happen automatically when the image is uploaded, ensuring a seamless workflow without breaking the design flow between multiple modals.

Pricing

Vectorizer works through a credit-based system.

Each vectorization costs 1 credit.
If you enable Preview with watermark, showing a preview costs 0.2 credits, and if the customer confirms the vectorization, an additional 0.9 credits are charged (for a total of 1.1 credits, with the advantage of not paying the full credit if the customer only views the preview).

When you activate the tool, you receive 2 free credits to test it. Additional credits can be purchased in packs in the Back Office under: My Account > Addons > Vectorizer

Credits Price Price/Credit
50 14,00 EUR 0,28 EUR/credit
100 26,00 EUR 0,26 EUR/credit
200 48,00 EUR 0,24 EUR/credit
500 110,00 EUR 0,22 EUR/credit
1000 200,00 EUR 0,20 EUR/credit
>1000 Contact help@zakeke.com

Credits do not expire and can be used across all your sales channels (there is no need to purchase separate credit packages for each channel if you have multiple sales channels, the credits are shared at the accout level.

Auto-refill

You can enable Auto-refill to prevent the tool from stopping in the UI when credits run out. When Auto-Refill is enabled, Zakeke will automatically purchase the same credit package once your balance drops to 10%, keeping the tool running without interruption.

If Auto-refill is not enabled, the tool will stop functioning once all credits are used.

⚠️ Note for Shopify users:
Auto-refill is not available when using Zakeke through the Shopify app.
You’ll receive an email notification when your credits drop below 20% and another when they are completely used.
