Bulk Variation Forms

Bulk Variation Forms allows your buyers to add multiple variations of a product to their cart from single customization.

Easily configure products which have variations for bulk purchases. The tool will simplify the ordering process for wholesalers, B2B sites, or any user who would like to order multiple variations of the same product with the same design at the same time.

Example: your buyer personalizes a T-shirt with Zakeke, before checkout he/she can choose to buy five yellow T-shirts in size L and five red T-shirts in size M. Only one design, only one order, multiple variations.

1. How it works

1.1 Setting up the tool

Go to your Zakeke back-office > Commerce Rules > Bulk Variation Forms and select the product for which you want to enable bulk variations purchases. Then, choose the product variations, set the other options (form version and final output) and save.

When your buyers make their designs and click on the add to cart button in the customizer, they see a form to order multiple variations.

1.2 Bulk Variation Forms and Sales Channels

When you select a product and enter the BVF (Bulk Variation Form) configuration screen, if that product is available on multiple sales channels, you can choose the specific channel where you want to activate it. If you want to activate it on all channels, simply click “Apply to all.”

By doing so, the BVF will be applied to all sales channels where that product is available, and all options for that product on all sales channels will be included in the Bulk Variations Form.

Instead, If you only want certain options to appear in the BVF for each sales channel, you need to configure them channel by channel. To ensure the BVF includes the correct options for each channel, select a sales channel from the dropdown, configure the desired options, save, and then repeat the process for the next sales channel. Do not click “Apply to all.”

Note: Other configurations, such as form version, unit price, and final output, are shared across all sales channels and cannot be set individually per channel.

2. Form Options

2.1 Form version: Grid or Dropdown

You can decide the design of the Bulk Variation Form: in addition to the default grid on desktops there is also the opportunity to use a drop down menu, the best option if you have a large number of attributes, ensuring an improved experience for your customers. Mobile view remains only with dropdown menus, no matter your choice inside the app.

2.2 Show Unit Price

Enabling this option allows you to display the unit price alongside the total and sub-totals. This is especially useful when applying quantity-based discounts, as it helps both you and your customers clearly see how the price per item changes with different order volumes.

3. Final output

For products where the Bulk Variation Form is enabled, you will receive separate print files for each purchased variant.

Your clients will also see a different thumbnail for each variant in their shopping cart, providing a better user experience during the purchasing process.

Please note

  • For Magento, please update the Zakeke plugin to version 2.7. Otherwise, only the print file for the variant selected by your customer will be generated.
  • Keep in mind that in BigCommerce thumbnails won't be updated due to the platform's limitations.

Deprecated Section

  • For configurations created before May 13, 2026, the Final Output section allows you to choose between Individual print-ready files and Only one print-ready file.
  • The Only one print-ready file option has been deprecated and is no longer available for new activations. Existing configurations that enabled this option before this date will continue to work normally.

Warning:

  • If you have chosen the Only one print-ready file option, Zakeke won't generate a separate design for each variant purchased. For this reason:
    • Always refer to the order details in your e-commerce platform to identify the variants to fulfill. Use Zakeke only for the design details.
    • If different print areas or other configuration aspects change based on the variant, make sure to consider these differences before printing the product.
    • To avoid confusion, the order summary will include a note informing you when the order is a bulk order.
