Connecting Zapier with Zakeke

Before you start

  • Zapier integration is included in all of the new Zakeke plans
  • To make use of the Zapier integration, you’ll need to have a Zapier account. Once you set it up, you have a couple of options.

Please note

If you have subscribed to an older Zakeke's Advanced, Unlimited and Unlimited+Configurator plan, Zapier is included in your plan. If you have an older Zakeke's Starter plan you will need to upgrade to use Zapier.

Use pre-made Zaps

The easiest way to get started is to try some pre-made Zakeke and Zapier workflows. All you’ll need to do is click Try it next to the Zap you want to use and authenticate your Zakeke account and the accounts of any other apps you’re using in the workflow—Zapier will take care of the rest.

Here are a few pre-made Zaps you can start using today:

Build custom Zaps

If you can’t find what you’re looking for in pre-made options, consider building a custom Zap with Zakeke and Zapier. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Go to your Zapier account
  2. Search for Zakeke in the "Connect this app..." field
  3. Search for the app/service you wish to connect to Zakeke in the "with this one!" field
  4. Select the app/event and choose between these options:
    • New Marketplace Order Item - the zap will be triggered whenever you receive a new order for a customized product inside your Etsy account or you create a manual order
    • New Order Item - the zap will be triggered whenever a new customized order is received and print-ready files are generated
    • New Order Item (Ignore Design Updates) - triggers when a new customized order is received and print files are generated. If you edit the order inside Zakeke, it will not re-trigger.
    • New Quotation - the zap will be triggered whenever you receive a request for quote)

  5. Select the action you wish to be done in the connected app in the "then do this!" field
  6. Click "Make a Zap" and follow the instructions.

You may be asked to enter your Zakeke Client Id and you Zakeke API Secret Key.

You find them by clicking here. If the link doesn't work, go to your Zakeke back-office and search for API Keys in the search bar.

3.1 Build custom flows for marketplace orders

The integration between Zakeke and Etsy or other marketplaces lets you send customers emails with customization links so they can design your products. You can create more complex email workflows thanks to custom zaps within Zapier, sending reminder emails allowing you to communicate further with your customers, like if they haven't completed their designs. Let's see an example.

Repeat the steps detailed here:

  1. Go to your Zapier account
  2. Search for Zakeke in the "Connect this app..." field
  3. Search for the email provider you wish to connect to Zakeke (for example Gmail) in the "with this one!" field
  4. Select the Zakeke trigger New Marketplace Order Item, the zap will be triggered whenever you receive a new order for a customized product inside your Etsy account

  5. Now connect your Gmail account and select the action "Send email to customer in Gmail". This email contains all details to let customers customize your products. Remember that you can use any email provider of your choice, this is just an example.

  6. The next step is add a Delay (check status of the order). Basically you can decide a delay (here it's 2 days) after which you can do/check something about the marketplace order, for example check the status of it, and then continue sendind another communication to your customer, asking more details about the design or why they haven't completed the customization.

  7. Then you can Get a marketplace order status in Zakeke to create the follow up email we've been describing

  8. If the status of the order is not Complete, so customers haven't customized the product, you can then Send another email to your customer asking to complete the customization and the order.

You can further edit this workflow example to your needs and send custom emails to your customers using Zapier.
