What Counts Toward Your Storage

Your storage usage includes:

  • All assets uploaded or created directly by you via the back-office, such as images, clipart, 3D models, fonts, and similar resources.
  • Automatically generated files that you do not manage manually, including print-ready files, saved designs, and images uploaded by end users during customization.

These items collectively count toward your total storage limit.

Freeing up storage space

In addition to the assets you can manage directly from the back-office (such as images, 3D models, fonts, etc.), Zakeke also allows you to delete automatically generated files that are not directly controlled by you.

These include:

  1. Print-ready files generated when an order is placed
  2. Designs created by end users that did not result in an order, including:
    • Customizations that were saved for later (via the Save button in the Zakeke UI)
    • Designs that were shared via link (via the Share button in the Zakeke UI)
    • Designs that were added to the cart but never purchased

These files are automatically generated and, based on our experience, are by far the largest contributors to storage usage. For this reason, we strongly recommend not deleting your own assets (e.g., images, 3D models), but instead using the automatic deletion feature to remove these types of data and free up significant space.

To delete these files:

  1. Go to Your Account from the top bar in your Zakeke back-office
  2. Scroll down to Storage Usage
  3. Click on Delete to manage and remove old files
  4. In the modal:
    • Select the file types you want to delete;
    • Choose a cutoff date: all files created or modified before that date will be permanently deleted (you can only select a date that is at least 3 months ago. Files generated within the last 3 months cannot be deleted).

This is a quick way to free up space without impacting the assets you manage manually.

⚠️ Important Warnings

  • We recommend not selecting a very recent date, as it may delete files that customers are still intending to buy or print files still needed for production.
  • Once deleted, files are permanently removed from our servers and cannot be recovered.
  • The deletion process may take anywhere from a few minutes to several days, depending on the amount of data involved and the sensitivity of the operation.
